Lawrence “Larry” J. Curtis, 70, of Princeton, IA, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his home due to Lou Gehrig’s disease. Services will be 12:00 PM, noon, Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until noon Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Pallbearers will be Danny, Jason and Gary Curtis and Jeffrey, C.J. and Kyle Kirby.

Larry was born October 21, 1943 in Bernard, Iowa, the son of Michael and Ruth (Johnson) Curtis. He was educated at Butler #5 in Jackson County. Larry married Pat Kemp on April 30, 1963 in Maquoketa, Iowa.

He was the owner and operator of Curtis Construction for 40 years, he retired in 2006. Larry enjoyed playing cards and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid Cowboys Fan.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Curtis; three daughters, Peg (Terry) Smith of Princeton, IA; Paula (Jeff) Edwards of LeClaire, IA; Pam (Shane) Townley of Davenport, IA; Son, Danny (Kim) Curtis of LeClaire, IA; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Charlene Herrig of Dubuque; Marie (Vernie) Ambrosey of Dubuque and brother, Al (Helen) Curtis of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bernadine and Eleanor and brothers, Jack, Jim, Ronnie and Gary.
