Alice M. Issen age 82 of Clinton passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow with burial at a later date in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren.

Alice was born in Clinton on June 6, 1931, the daughter of John F. and Lilly M. (Weins) Hinrichsen. She graduated from Lyons High School. Alice married Bernard Issen in June of 1955. Bernard passed away in 1974. Alice had been employed with KROS Radio, First National Bank, Prudential Life Insurance Company and Royal Neighbors. She was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary, Eagle Club, Red Hat Society, and had been active for the American Heart Association. She enjoyed playing cards, taking bus trips, traveling, and acting in plays at the Carriage House.

Alice is survived by a daughter, Sandy (Ron) Burken of Camanche; a son Steve (Marilyn) Issen of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Michael) Shatto of Merritt Island, FL, Jessica (Jed) Miller of Hills, IA; Dan (Nicole) Guilliams of Seattle; Leah (Scott) Zurborg of West Des Moines; Rebecca (Will Krieg) Guilliams of Littleton, CO; Anna (Andy) Vetter of Coralville and Alicia Burken of Camanche; six great grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Ryker, Stavia, Tralyn and Justys and her brother, Darrell (Rita) Hinrichsen of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Agnes Hinrichsen; a son Mark in 1993; a special friend, Al Engelhorn and a brother, Jack. Online condolences may left at www.papefh.com.
