Michael E. Griffin age 58 of Clinton passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery.

Mike was born in Clinton on January 26, 1956, the son of Floyd and Elizabeth (Daly) Griffin. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1974. Mike married Dena Crosson in December of 1974. He later married Brenda Taylor in December of 1983. Mike had been employed in the wheel shop at the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons, golfing and camping.

Mike is survived by four sons, Matt (Shannon) Griffin of Wyoming, IA, John (Chelsea) Griffin, Michael Griffin and David Griffin all of Clinton; nine grandsons, Alexander, Michael, Logan, Donavan, Kyle, Noah, D.J., Sawyer and Zayden; five sisters, Mary (Richard) Radewan of Racine, WI, Constance Johnson of Prior Lake, MN, Nancy (Greg) Kron of New Berlin, WI, Elizabeth (Gene) Fagan of Newark, DE and Rita (Donald) Schneider of Clinton; three brothers, Thomas Griffin of Elgin, IL, Timothy (Joanne) Griffin of Fleming Island, FL and John (Michelle) Griffin of Clinton and many nieces and nephews.
