Angela C. Rixen Cooper, age 36 of Clinton passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the First united Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the service time Wednesday at the church. Cremation rites will follow. Casket bearers will be Will Wiesner, Joe, Dave, Kim and Joey Rixen and Stephanie hand. Honorary casket bearers will be Kris Burress, Rose Schmalfeldt, Kenna Steward and Sondra Baughman.

Angela was born in Iowa City on July 7, 1977, the daughter of Christopher and Christine (Pray) Rixen. She was educated in Clinton schools and attended Clinton Community College. Angela had been employed with the Mississippi Belle II, at Nora’s Café and had owned and operated Our Place Restaurant. She enjoyed her Main Ave. Social Club and being with people, she loved to sing Karaoke and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, yard work and raising her house plants.

Angela is survived by three children; Dylan Schoenfeld, Dallas Schoenfeld and Destiny Schoenfeld all of Clinton; her parents, Chris and Christy Rixen of Clinton; a brother, Zach (Tiffany Hansen) Rixen of Cedar Rapids; grandparents, Ellen and Don Ketelsen and Gayla Rixen all of Clinton; a special friend, Jason Rekemeyer and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Frank Rixen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her children’s educational fund. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
