Mr. William G. Walker, 86, of Welton, Iowa, died Friday morning, February 14, 2014, in his home.

William George Walker was born March 29, 1927 in DeWitt, Iowa, to George and Irene Walker. He married Marjorie Mae Claeys, June 14, 1947. The couple resided in Welton, where they raised their family. Bill worked as a machinist, retiring from Eagle Signal in Davenport, Iowa. He also did bundle drops of the Quad City Times for many years. Marge preceded Bill in death on January 27, 2004.

He enjoyed woodworking, flying model airplanes and sports.

Surviving are children, Russell Walker, Diana (Glen) Mohr and Terry (Merilee) Walker all of Welton, Dennis (Molly) Walker of Delmar, Iowa, and Jeffrey (Virginia) Walker of DeWitt; 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Bill was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Rose Walker.

Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Sarah E. Kretzmann officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ryan, Rodney, Brian, Tony and Jeremy Walker and LeRoy Mohr. Honorary pallbearers will be Reid and George Walker and Ryan Kness.
