The Clinton Herald Wednesday October 7, 1914 p. 8 Mrs. Susan A. Murphy, widow of the late Thomas Murphy, who passed away May 13, 1914, died at her home 622 North Fourth street Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock, after an illness of a month's duration. Death was caused by a complication of diseases contributory to liver trouble. Since the death of her beloved husband she failed more rapidly but no one thought the end was so near and her death came as a great shock to all. Susana Muldoon was born in Elk River township, April 17, 1847, and had always lived in this neighborhood, where she enjoyed a large circle of friends. She was united in marriage to Thomas Murphy and to this union were born three children. The deceased was a devout Catholic and a regular attendant at St. Irenaeus church. of which she had been a faithful member since her residence here. The survivors are three daughters, Miss Frances of Chicago and Miss Mary and Miss Jennie at home. The funeral will be held Friday morning with services at St. Irenaeus church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.
