Clinton Daily Advertisor Wednesday October 7, 1914 p. 6 Mrs. Thomas Murphy, one of Clinton county's oldest residents passed away at her home on north Fourth street at 7:45 o'clock Tuesday evening following an illness of several weeks due to a complication of diseases. Death, however, was unexpected. Her condition became alarming at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and her daughter Miss Frances Murphy of Chicago, was communicated with, but could not reach the city until several hours after her mother's death. The funeral will be held from St. Irenaeus church at 9 o'clock Friday morning, when a requiem mass will be celebrated by the pastor, Rev. James Comerford. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery. The deceased was born in Elk River township 67 years ago, and spent practically all of her life in this city and vicinity where she was widely and most favorably known. Her death is mourned by many friends. Immediate relatives surviving her are her three daughters, Misses Mary and Jennia Murphy of this city and Miss Frances of Chicago.
