Roberta Ruth Putman, 90, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away January 20, 2014, at The Alverno Nursing Home in Clinton.

Services will be Friday, January 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to the service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Appel, Matthew Putman, and Nicholas Putman.

Roberta is survived by her sons, Gary (Cheryl) of Meridianville, Alabama and Stephen (Sandra) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa as well as six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Raymond Putman, and parents, David Paul Vore and Helena Paustian Vore Spiers.

Born on August 22, 1923 in Reinbeck, Iowa, Roberta resided in Marion, Iowa for nine years before moving to Clinton in 1939. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1941 and the following year married Henry Putman. They were married for 53 years before his death in 1995. She was an avid typist and employed at Camp Stewart , GA. during her husband's enlistment and later by Swift & Co. in Clinton.

Roberta was a charter member of the Camanche Eastern Star, a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, ABWA, and the Camanche Historical Society. She enjoyed travel, sewing, knitting, and above all, she treasured her family and friends.

Memorials may be directed to St Mark's Methodist Church in Camanche or to the family.
