G. M. Tieso, Jr. age 82 of Clinton passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at St. Boniface Hall.

Mr. Tieso was born in Clinton on February 23, 1931, the son of Guillermo M. and Maria C. (Carillo) Tieso, Sr. He graduated from Clinton High School. He married Nellie Marie McKenna on July 27, 1955 in Davenport. Nellie passed away on May 1, 2010. Mr. Tieso was employed for over 29 years at Clinton Corn Processing Company. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church. He was a wrestler in school and enjoyed watching his boy’s wrestle. He enjoyed gardening, playing the violin, and with his wife was very active in following their children’s youth activities. They enjoyed traveling, especially vacationing in Mexico.

Mr. Tieso is survived by six children; Mary (Bruce) Johnson of West Chicago, Bill (Cheryl) Tieso, Alicia (Paul) Hansen of Coco, FL, Ramon (Christine) Tieso, Dolores (Mark) Watts and James Tieso all of Clinton; 15 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a sister, Jovita (Bill) Tieso-Bauder of Las Cruces, NM.
