Jacquelyn K. "Jackie" Peters, 67, of DeWitt, Iowa, formerly of Grand Mound, Iowa, died Monday evening, December 23, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound with the Rev. Steven Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Clinton. Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Jacquelyn Kay Peters was born June 16, 1946 at the former Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, Iowa, to William "Butch" and Helen (Manning) Peters. Jackie was schooled at the former Grand Mound Elementary and went on to graduate from Central Community High School, DeWitt in May 1964. She worked in the kitchen at the former Ott's Tavern in Grand Mound, for a time. Jackie was a caregiver much of her life for children and the elderly.

She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. She enjoyed counted cross-stitch, cooking, photography, writing poetry, traveling via Amtrak, going to garage sales, collecting bunnies, bears and purple items and e-mailing family and friends. Jackie deeply cared about others, never meeting a stranger.

Surviving are an aunt, Norma Manning of DeWitt, as well as many cousins and friends.

Preceding Jackie in death were her parents and a sister, Sandra Kay.
