Mrs. Myrna J. Palzkill, 74, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Church. Msgr. Francis Henricksen and Deacon Mark Comer will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be designated to Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt or St. Joseph School.

Pallbearers will be Urban Klosterman, Leo Klosterman, Robert Klosterman, Mark Klosterman, Darwin Kilburg and Mike McCarville.

The former Myrna Jean Klosterman was born May 3, 1939 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Lloyd and Delores (Boylen) Klosterman. On July 27, 1963, Myrna was united in marriage to Norbert Palzkill at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dodgeville. The couple resided in Illinois for several years and moved to DeWitt in 1973 where they raised their family. Myrna worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her husband preceded her in death on July 29, 2009.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, and the Altar and Rosary Society. Myrna was also active in the DeWitt Community Hospital Auxiliary and Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, crocheting and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Surviving are her children, Jacqueline (Gayln) Reuter, Cynthia Bartos, Jeffrey Palzkill, Lori Palzkill and James (Leslie) Palzkill all of DeWitt, Craig (Amy) Palzkill of Byron, Illinois, and Stacey Sands of Liberty, Missouri; grandchildren, Dylan, Ian, Ethan, Hannah and Jaden Palzkill; her father, Lloyd Klosterman of Oregon, Wisconsin; siblings, Urban (Patricia) Klosterman, Sharon Johnson, Diane (Vic) Phillips, Leo (Karen) Klosterman, Rosemary (Don) Williams, Robert (Shawn) Klosterman, Debra (Wes) March, Marcia (Scott) Murn, Jeanne (Ken) O'Brien and Mark (Diane) Klosterman; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Myrna in addition to her husband, were her mother, Delores; siblings, Theresa Benson, Larry Klosterman and Paul Klosterman; a brother-in-law, Jerry Johnson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Catherine Palzkill.
