Eugene Virgil Freels Jr., 67 of 114 N. 34e St., died Wednesday in Samareitan North.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lionel M. Davis officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at the church, where a Masonic Service will be held. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.the Delaney-Vulich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers will be Lawrence Herron, G.V.,Maude, and David James, Willie Peters, Johnnie Shaw, and Joe Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Jones and Ed Seals.
Mr. Freels was born July 28, 1921 in Clarence, Mo. To Eugene and Mary Wallace Freels Sr. He married Laura Ewing in 1962 in Clinton, and Shirley Allen in Clinton in 1971.
He was employed at Climax, the Iowa Machine and Iron Works, and Central Steel Tube in Clinton.
Mr. Freels was a member of the Second Baptist Church, the McNeil Lodge #21, Leah Chapter#8,and Order of the Eastern Star, R.E.O.A. Hannah Court #11.
Survivors include his mother, a daughter Angela, of Minneapolis, Minn.;three sons, Milton of Atlanta Ga.; Gregory, of Clinton, and Terry, of St. Louis, Mo.; a stepson, Craig, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and five grand children. He was preceded in death by his father.
