Mary A. Wisor, 94, of Camanche, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Mercy Living Center – South.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Church of the Visitation – Camanche. Burial will be in the Villa Nova Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Wisor, John Wisor, Ryan Wisor, Tim Wisor, Justin Wiese, and Brian Ross. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A vigil service will conclude the visitation at 7:00pm.

Mary Agnes Kane was born on December 8, 1918 in Long Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mary Agnes (Looney) Kane. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in DeWitt. She married Francis Wisor on January 30, 1940 in Long Grove, Iowa; he died June 25, 1980.

Francis and Mary farmed in the Goose Lake area for many years before retiring to Camanche.

Mary was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche. She loved cooking, baking, and watching television.

Mary is survived by seven sons: James (Jean) Wisor of Camanche, Donald (Mary) Wisor of Moline, Illinois, Paul (Roseanne) Wisor of Lowden, Iowa, Thomas (Cindy) Wisor of Camanche, Larry (Margaret) Wisor of Springville, Iowa, Jerry (Eileen) Wisor of Camanche, and David (Valerie) Wisor of Raleigh, North Carolina; three daughters: Margaret (Larry) Ross of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Joan (Jim) Harms of Clinton, and Janice (John) Wiese of Clinton; 34 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Teresa Cotter of East Moline, Illinois; brother-in-law: Steve Sharnik of Moline, Illinois; brother-in-law: Bob Wisor of Iowa City, Iowa; sister-in-law: Sr. Marjorie Wisor, OSF of St. Louis, Missouri; and sister-in-law: Bernadette Wisor of Camanche and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter: Marian; two brothers, two sisters, and four grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
