Shirley J. Thomson age 84 of Clinton passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Shirley was born in Clinton on August 9, 1929, the daughter of Millard and Evelyn (Rohert) Lamont. She married Ralph Thomson on September 2, 1950 in St. Patrick’s Church, Clinton. Ralph passed away on March 2, 2008. Shirley had been employed for a short time at E.I. DuPont. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She volunteered for many church functions at the former St. Irenaeus Church. Shirley enjoyed reading, traveling, and following the Cubs.

Shirley is survived by six children; Jim (Sabrina) Thomson of Clinton, Janet Thomson of Riverside, CA, Greg Thomson of Clinton, Barbara (Bob) McKone of Brookfield, WI, Paul Thomson of Clinton and Donna (Ron) Graziano of Elgin, IL; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Mark. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Public Library.
