Lucile A. Petersen age 91 of Clinton passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at Mercy Living Center North. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church, Andover. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Lucile was born in Charlotte on January 14, 1922, the daughter of George and (Malinda) Petersen Christiansen. She graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1941. She married Willis Petersen on November 24, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. Lucile and Willis farmed for many years near Andover. She had also been employed at the Clinton County Courthouse, Shick Hospital during W.W. II, the Curtis Company and as Post Mistress in Andover. She and Willis were part of the original members of Faith Lutheran Church, where she had served as the choir director, superintendent and teacher for the Sunday School program and served as church secretary for many years. She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Lucile loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, knitting, crocheting and traveling.

Lucile is survived by her husband, Willis; two sons, Sheridan Petersen of Morrison and Dean (Carolyn) Petersen of Clinton; a daughter, JoAnn Hulse of Clarksville, TN; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Helen Christiansen of Clinton; a brother-in-law, John Boland of Clinton and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; a sister and a daughter-in-law, Donna Petersen. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
