Joan M. Malli age 78 of Clinton passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday Oct. 19th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Rick and Jesse Schoel, Paul and Dylan Burn, and Jeffrey and David “DJ” Malli, and Jeffrey Freeman. Memorials may be given to the Clinton Humane Society. Joan was born on Aug. 16, 1935 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Edward and R. Lucy (Kurtz-Cleppe) Blount. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1953. She married David Malli on Sept. 30, 1978 in Camanche. She was a homemaker and had worked at Sweetheart Bakery and Rastrelli's, Clinton Floral, and volunteered at the Mercy Ladies Auxiliary. Joan enjoyed making ceramics and was an avid animal lover, especially her cats.

Joan is survived by her husband, David Malli of Clinton; six children, Phoebe Schoel, Rick (Sheree’) Schoel, Susan (Paul) Burn, Lori Pladna, and Jeffrey (Charline) Malli all of Clinton, and Patricia (Jeffrey) Freeman of Meriden, KS; 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and a brother, Edward (Tomae) Blount of Colorado Springs, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents.
