Ethel A. Block age 97 of Clinton passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Mercy Living Center South. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.

Ethel was born in Clinton on January 29, 1917, the daughter of Alfred and Alma (Langheim) Peters. She graduated from Lyons High School. Ethel married LeRoy Andersen. He preceded her in death. She later married Clarence Block. Clarence passed away on May 10, 1991. Ethel and Clarence farmed west of Clinton for many years. She later was employed as a secretary at A.C. Nielsen. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing BINGO.

Ethel is survived by a son, Gary (Marion) Andersen of Clinton; a daughter, Connie “Kaye” Andersen Rajcevich of Bay City, TX; four grandchildren, Dana Otto, Geoffrey Paules, Jonathan (Delfa) Murray and Nicole (Mike) Mosby; a great granddaughter, Angela LaCroix; her brother, Cliff (Vivian) Peters of Clinton; her sister, Carol Yeoman of Maquoketa, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a step-son, Robert Block; one brother and three sisters. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
