Marvin E. Shadle Sr. age 84 of Camanche, died Monday Oct. 14, 2013 at Mercy South Living Center, Clinton. Committal services will be held 10:15 AM Thursday at Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche. Visitation will be held Thursday 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the Pape Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Marvin was born on Sept. 16, 1929 in Clinton, the son of Earl and Letty (Smith) Shadle Sr. He married Phyllis Roggendorf on Jan. 23, 1949 in Clinton, she died in 1994. Marvin had worked at Allied Structural Steel, Clinton Corn, and Pinkerton Guard Services. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cards, dice, and family games.

Marvin is survived by his five children, Marvin Shadle, Jr. of Camanche, Susan (Jim) James of Camanche, Sally (Larry) Meggenberg of Clinton, Sharon (Jeff) Niebuhr of Clinton, and Bruce (Lorraine) Shadle of Camanche; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren:
daughter-in-law, Cindy Shadle of Camanche; and two sisters, Lorraine Edens and Lucille Stange both of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons, and two brothers.
