Dale G. Robe, 66, of Clinton, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home after a battle with cancer.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Damen Lampkin, Darieon Lampkin, Jordan Landreman, Eric Miller, Kirt Dell, and Lee Camp. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Thomas Flint. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory.

Dale Glenn Robe was born on October 2, 1946 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Glenn and Oneda (Chambers) Robe. Dale married Roseann McCorkel on July 29, 1972 in Burlington, Iowa. He graduated from United Township High School in East Moline. He graduated from Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and received his masters from Truman State. He later received his Administration Certification from Western Illinois University.

Dale moved to Clinton in 1972 and taught History and Language at Washington Middle School until retiring in 2006. He served as Athletic Director and also coached, basketball and track at Washington. Prior to moving to Clinton he taught at Danville for three years.

Dale was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. He was a stockholder and avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Dale is survived by his wife: Roseann of Clinton; two sons: John Robe of Clinton and Daniel Robe of North Liberty, Iowa; his sister: Susan Keown (Steve Wrixton) of Racine, Wisconsin; two nieces: Laura Keown and Carrie (Damen) Lampkin and several great nieces and nephews including Hannah Keown who lived with Dale and Roseann for a short time.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
