Doris C. Foster age 90 of Clinton passed away Tuesday, June 04, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery.

Doris was born in Clinton on July 17, 1922, the daughter of Jens and Florence (Mallory) Willadsen. She graduated from Lyons High School. Doris married Raymond Foster on October 11, 1947 in Clinton. Ray passed away in July of 1999. Doris has been employed as an operator with Northwestern Bell for 35 years, retiring in 1978. Doris and Ray enjoyed golfing with her sister Jenis; as well as trips to Florida, Colorado and Door County, Wisconsin. Doris loved baking, knitting, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and watching football, baseball, and golf. While once believed to love playing checkers with her grandchildren, which she later admitted she did not like the game of checkers. She was a kind and loving person that always remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. Doris and Ray were wonderful parents to their son Daniel, who preceded them in death.

Survivors include her daughter-in law, Sally Foster of Waukegan, IL; three grandchildren, Christopher (Kelly) of Fox Lake, IL, Eric (Mandy) of Springfield, IL, and Laura of San Jose, CA; and great grand-daughter, Samantha; her sister–in-law, Lu Alice Foster; three nephews, Gilbert (Robin) Baker of FL, Gerald (Cathy) Baker, and Gregory (Chris) Baker of Clinton. In addition, she is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews from the Foster and Baker families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Daniel on August 13, 1988 and her sister, Jenis Baker. We are grateful for having known and loved her. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
