Mitchell A. Lauritzen age 13, son of Jay and Joan Lauritzen of Clinton, died Thursday June 6, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday 12 – 3 pm at the funeral home. Following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life Reception at the home, 2001 8th Ave S., Clinton. Graveside services will be held 11:30 am Tuesday at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben and Jake Lauritzen, Hunter and John “Buck” Else, Baylor Crigger, Jason Foster, Grant Dickey and Rob Rice. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Mitchell was born on Jan. 19, 2000 in Clinton, the son of Jay and Joan (Morgan) Lauritzen. He attended Lyons Middle School in the 7th grade. He enjoyed going to sporting events, the outdoors, and he loved music.

Mitchell is survived by his parents, Jay and Joan Lauritzen of Clinton; two brothers, Ben and Jake Lauritzen at home; his grandmother, Arlene Morris of Clinton; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Lauritzen, Charley and Mary Jane Morgan, and an uncle, Scott Lauritzen.
