Mary Jo Kinkaid, 72, of Clinton, passed away, Friday, May 17, 2013 in the hospital due to complications from surgery.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 3:00-5:30pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Following the visitation Mary Jo will be cremated. A Celebration of her life will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00pm at Gil’s in Clinton. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com

Mary Jo Robinson was born on July 26, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Mary Jane (Pringle) Robinson. She married Merlin E. Kinkaid on June 7, 1959 in Clinton; he died August 20, 2012.

Mary Jo was a 1959 graduate of Clinton High School.

Mary Jo was the executive assistant for the Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau from 1991 until retiring in 2012.

Mary Jo enjoyed spending most of her time with family and friends.

Mary Jo is survived by her mother: Mary Jane Bisson of Clinton; two daughters: Cathy (Donald) Hannigan of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Christine (Eric) Thiele of Falcon, Colorado; two grandchildren Bobbie (Lance) Duncan, and Conor Kinkaid Thiele; and one great-granddaughter: Emma Duncan; three sisters and one brother.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her father and her husband of 53 years.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
