Joan H. Thomas age 84 of Clinton, died Friday May 31, 2013 at Mercy Living Center South. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, cremation rites will be accorded and burial at Andover Cemetery. Joan was born on Sept. 20, 1928 in Andover, IA, the daughter of Henry and Hannah (Andersen) Eggers. She married Robert Garson in 1945 in Grand Mound, IA, he died in 1976. Joan was a homemaker and worked as a nurses aid for many years.

Joan is survived by two sons, Norm (Barbara) Garson of Charlotte, IA and Robert Garson of Clinton, IA; a daughter, Jane (Mohammad) Asaadi of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren, James, Jennifer, Chris, Jonathan, Robert, and Sheila; and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.
