Anna M. Richards, 85, of Clinton, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, Iowa.

Graveside Services will be 10:30am, Friday, April 5, 2013 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens – Galesburg, Illinois. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Vegter, David Vegter, Todd Carpenter, Billy Holton, Christopher Richards, Paul Housenga, Andrew Richards, and Evan McCallister. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bob Onderbeck and Eldo Krebs. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory – Clinton, Iowa.

Anna Marie Young was born on February 20, 1928 in Lockridge, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Edith (McWilliams) Young. She married Wayne Gordon Richards on Octboer 27, 1944 in Kahoka, Missouri; he died April 28, 2001.

Anna was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ and the Red Hat Club. She was involved in missions, Women’s Bible Study, Women’s Fellowship, and watched her great granddaughter and her dog Honey. She traveled the world and had a great life with good friends.

Anna is survived by four daughters: Connie Vegter of Morrison, Christine Richards of Fulton, Loetta (Bill) Holton of Fulton, and Janise Richards of Decatur, Georgia; one son: Curt (Nancy) Richards of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren: Rick Vegter, Dave Vegter, Tami Tegeler, Janet Kerr, Laura Sheeley, Andrew Richards, Sarah Hatheway, Todd Carpenter, Cheryl Stuart, William Holton, Jr., Amy McCallister, Catie Bush, Courtney Richards, Christopher Richards, Paul Housenga, and Traci Kaas; 17 great-grandchildren: Amanda Vegter, Shaina Squire, Holly Vegter, Aaron Vegter, Brian Tegeler, Lindsey Tegeler, Mary Tegeler, Dyanna Schnitzler, Brendan Schnitzler, Dakota Wolber, Chance Richards, Kylie Richards, Alexander Hatheway, Jada Bostic, Leah McCallister, Kira Gramm, and Waylon Bush; one great-granddaughter: Alexandra Squire; and special friends: Bob and Lois Onderbek of Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters: Carolyn and Coleen; one brother: Rex, two sisters: Imogene and Etta May; and one grandson, Robert (Bobby) Sheeley.

Memorials can be made to the Clinton Church of Christ.
