Ethel R. “Becky” Niles, age 82, of Clinton passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Mercy Living Center South. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Clinton Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 5th at the Pape Funeral Home and from 12:00 noon until the service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Becky was born in Hagerstown, Maryland on May 10, 1930, the daughter of Clyde A. and Ruth A. (Wulf) Powell. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1948. Becky married Robert Wayne Niles on May 10, 1949 in Clinton. Robert passed away in 2004. Becky had worked at Clover Hills Laundromat, Eagle Supermarket, and had provided child care in her home. She was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ where she was active with the Joy Circle and Christmas in October. Her family meant everything to her. When her children were young she was active in the Girl and Cub Scouts.

Becky is survived by six children, Steven (Donna) Niles of San Antonio, TX, Molly (Tom) Thiessen of Clinton, Vera Niles of Clinton, Cynthia (David) Clanton of Cary, IL, Richard Niles of St. Louis and Jenifer (Edward) Green of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, Tom Thiessen, Becky Thiessen, Melissa Niles, Jessica (David) Raper, Keeli Comito, Andrew Green, Bob Clanton, Carly Green, Kassandra Clanton, and Jacob Niles; three great grandchildren, Ethan Housenga, Riley Thiessen and Bryce Raper and special friends Paul and Marlynn Meyermann. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, Wilbur and Clyde and four sisters, Verna Gaarde, Hazel Nixon, Anna Loots and Carole Jacobsen.
