Death Claims Ages Resident
Frederick Schroeder Dies This Morning after Prolonged Illness - Funeral Wednesday

After an illness of about a year's duration Frederick Schroeder passed quietly away this morning at 1:30 o'clock at his home, 831 Chicago Street. Death was due to a complication of diseases contributary to old age.

Mr. Schroeder was born in Holstein, Germany, October 9, 1839. He was united in marriage in that city to Miss Caroline Hagedon on May 9, 1861. Nine years later they came to America and direct to Clinton County, where they resided on a farm, later moving to Lyons in 1893, where they had since resided. Deceased was highly respected by a wide circle of friends. Besides his wife he leaves one son Carl of Goose Lake, two daughters, Mrs. August Hinrichs of Clinton and Mrs. Emil Lutt of Niobrara, Neb. Twelve grandchildren, four brothers, Henry and Peter Schroeder of Manning, Jochim of Schleswig and August of Whiteside and one sister, Mrs. Hanna Roenfeldt of Bryant.

The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the family home, 831 Chigago street, Rev. Hugo Grimm, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Ingwersen Cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
