Ernest G. Schroeder, 90, of Route 2, died Saturday in Mercy Hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Clinton Memorial Chapel of Clinton Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Brinkmann of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Glen, Dale, David, Kenneth, and Jerry Rathje, and Gary Schroeder.

Mr. Schroeder was born Jan. 31, 1893, in Goose Lake, the son of Charles F. and Augusta Husen Schroeder. He married Augusta Jurgesen, Sept. 2, 1920, in Clinton. He was educated in Goose Lake schools and farmed in the Clinton area all his life. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Merle (Vernetta) Rathje of Clinton; four sons, Raymond E. of Charter Oak, Iowa, Gilbert L. of Goose Lake, LeRoy D. and Melvin E., both of Clinton; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers' harry of Clinton and Rudolph of Bryant, and a sister, Mrs. Verdus (Doris) Koch of Miles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, a sister, and a grandson.
