Delbert L. Harksen funeral Monday

CLINTON - Delbert L. "Whitey" Harksen, 84, of 2728 Cleveland St., died Thursday at his home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home with Rev. Boyd Ellefson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday with the family only present from 9 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Goers, Howard Huizenga, Denzil Barnhill, David Mohr, Robert Shepard and Ronnie Peter.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, Theresa Anderson, Randy Harksen, DeeAnna Hagg, Kimberly Bielema, Robyn Schutte, Jeff Hagg and Jeff Bielema.
He was born Feb. 6, 1914 in Goose Lake, to Peter T. and Helena A. Kruse Harksen. He married Mariam Sleeper, Nov. 12, 1936 in Clinton.
He was employed with the Savanna Ordanance Depot for several years, and as production operator with E.I. DuPont Co., retiring in 1976 after 29 years.
He was a member of Lutheran Faith Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen R. Harksen of Morrison, Ill.; two daughters, Helen A. Harksen, and Mrs. Evelyn (Charles) Schutte both of Clinton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
