MRS. HAZEL HARKSEN

Mrs. Hazel Mae Harksen, 77, former resident of DeWitt, died Tuesday in Jackson County Hopsital, Maquoketa, after a long illness.
The funeral will be in McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt with the Rev. Cecil Wells, pastor of United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today.
Hazel Mae Meyers was born March 9, 1897, in Clinton County, the daughter of Marcellus and Addie Lehman Meyers. She married Alfred William Harksen on Oct. 13, 1913 and had been a resident of DeWitt for 42 years. For the last year she had made her home with a daughter in Maquoketa.
Surviving is the daughter, Mrs. Henry D. (Iva) Smith; one son, Donald, Clinton; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harksen was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one sister.
