MRS. HARRY HARKSEN
Mrs. Harry Harksen, 62, lifelong DeWitt resident, died about 11 a.m. today in DeWitt Community Hospital after five week's illness. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the McGinnis Funeral Home. Rev. Lester E. Olson Congregational minister will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
The former Kathrene Griebel was born Dec. 24, 1891 in DeWitt to the late John and Anna Carstens Griebel. She was educated in DeWitt public school and was a member of the First Congregational Church. On June 21, 1922 she was married in DeWitt to Harry Harksen.
Surviving are the husband; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Buss, Davenport; three sons, LaVerne of Moline, Ill., Lawrence H. of DeWitt, and Wayne at hoem; five grandchildren; four brothers, William of San Gabriel, Calif., Harry of Clinton, Frank of DeWitt, Fred of Sterling, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Woods of DeWitt, Mrs. Lillian Kraft of Clinton and Mrs. T. J. Smith of Cleveland, Oh.
