HARRY M. HARKSEN

Harry M. Harksen, 82, Route 1, Camanche, longtime DeWitt resident, died Monday at Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton after a long illness.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt, with the Rev. Glenn Trost of Congregational United Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Harksen was born Nov. 30, 1892 in Clinton County, the son of Martin and Pauline Petersen Harksen. He married Kathrene Griebel June 21, 1922 in DeWitt. He was a self-employed floor sander and refinisher before moving to Camanche five years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Buss, Paso Robles, Calif.; three sons, LaVerne, Rock Island, Lawrence H., Davenport, and Wayne, Camanche; 16 grandchildren, a brother, J. L. Harksen, Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, five brothers and three sisters.
