Mrs. Magdalena Petersen

Mrs. Magdalena Petersen, 83. of Route 1, Clinton, died in Jane Lamb hospital about noon today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Martin S. Bredow, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Snell-Smith funeral home after 7:30 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday.
Magdalena Harksen was born June 6, 1881, in Germany, the daughter of Louis and Pauline Harksen, coming to Clinton County as an infant with her parents. She married Henry F. Petersen on June 28, 1899, in Goose Lake and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Mildred) Langhaim of Clinton and Mrs. Berneta Smith of DeWitt and Mrs. James (Marcella) Harris of Clinton; two sons, Elmer of Welton and Arlo of DeWitt; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry and Alvin both of DeWitt, and J.L. of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one sister and four brothers.
