Mrs. Edna M. Sager, 77, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, January 8, 2013, at home.
Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, in the Funeral Home with The Reverend Robert Barrick officiating . Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Jack Carber, Dutch Schulz, Robert Maynard, John Maynard, Mike Maynard and Devon Maynard.

Mrs. Sager, the former Edna Mae Maynard was born June 26, 1935, in DeWitt, to Hosea and Mildred (Bourne) Maynard. Edna was a graduate of DeWitt High School. She was united in marriage to Gus Sager on December 1, 1957, in DeWitt. The couple farmed near Welton for many years. Edna also worked as a library aid at Central Junior High School. Gus preceded Edna in death on February 25, 2007.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of DeWitt. Edna was an avid bowler and enjoyed square dancing and camping. She was also active in Rainbow Girls.

Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Renee Sager of DeWitt and Randy Sager of New Mexico; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sager of Brooklyn, New York, Joseph Sager of DeWitt, Gretchen Sager of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kyle Sager and Reed Sager of Bettendorf, Iowa; siblings, Harry (Carolyn) Maynard of Ventura, California, Peggy Carber of DeWitt, Jack (Donna) Maynard of DeWitt and Dennis (Linda) Maynard of Davenport; numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Kay Maynard of DeWitt, a brother-in-law, Vern Sager of Ferndale, Washington and her former daughter-in-law, Shelly Sager of Bettendorf.

Preceding Edna in death in addition to her husband were her parents, a brother, Bob Maynard and an infant daughter, Alta Sager.
