The Clinton Herald Monday April 26, 1943 p 8 Fred H. Dorathy, 523 Sisteenth avenue, South, Clinton resident for the past 30 years, died at 1:40 p.m. Sunday in Mercy hospital, where he had been a patient for four weeks. The body was removed to the Snell funeral home, where it reposes, pending further funeral plans. Mr. Dorothy was born in March 1872, near Prophetstown, Ill., the son of Maurice and Lydia Dorothy. On Dec. 19, 1895, he was married to Maude Stewart in Morrison, Ill., and the couple settled near Prophetstown, until they came to Clinton thirty years ago. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Viva Shaw, Mrs. Ila Petersen, Mrs. Neatha Finch and Mrs. Ailene Fuller, all of Clinton; three sons, Fred and Kenneth Dorothy, Clinton and Frank L. Dorothy, Puerto Rico; two brothers, John and Jay Dorathy; two sisters, Mrs. Aran Hill and Mrs. Amy Adams, Prophetstown; twenty-six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Two grandsons are in the armed forces, Pvt. Kennneth Petersen, Camp Polk, La., and Pvt. Arnold Petersen, New Orleans, La. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1932; a son Paul, in 1929; his parents and a daughter who dies in infancy.
