Orval John Berger, 94, of Clinton, Iowa, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton. Services will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Clinton. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.

Orval was born August 7, 1917 in Templeton, Iowa, the son of John William and Dora (Stangel) Berger. He married Harriett Ann Hocking on June 2, 1938 in Carroll, Iowa; she died March 30, 2001.

Orval had been employed at Fullerton Lumber Company, Joyce Lumber company and Eclipse Lumber, he retired in 1980. Orval was a United States Army WWII Veteran. He was a member of Prince of Peace, K of C and was a St. Jude's Children's Hospital donor.

Survivors include his Children, David (Mary Lee) Berger of Hampton, Virginia; Ann Ellen (Michael) Moore of Madison, Indiana and Steven John (Valerie) Berger of Minneapolis, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Friedman and his parents.
