Clinton - Daniel B. “Dan” Hague age 91 of Clinton passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 17th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until the funeral time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery with Military Rites by the AMVETS. Casket bearers will Tad and Jeff Morrison, Joe Henry, Gerry Rocca and John Hutch.
Dan was born in Sterling, Illinois on December 21, 1920, the son of Fred and Effie (Harmon) Hague. He married Lucile Walbridge on October 4, 1941 in Camanche. Dan attained the rank of Staff Sergeant as a Wire Chief with the 548th Night Fighter Squadron in the Army Air Force in the South Pacific during W.W. II. He saw ground combat on Iwo Jima. He was employed at Climax Company, later Waukesha Motors, and retired as Service manager at Dresser in 1986. He was an avid pool player having been a 2 time winner of the Midwest Billiards Championship. He enjoyed boating and fishing.
Dan is survived by his wife Lucille; four children, Rose Marie (Fred) Kamrath of Tiskilwa, IL, Linda Kay (Joe) Henry of Clinton, Dan (Donna) Hague of Miami and Barbara Ann McReynolds of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Katie Moore of Sterling; many nieces and nephews and his feline companion, “Sugar”. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, a great grandson, four brothers and four sisters. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
