Eldridge, Iowa, formerly of Clinton - John A. Simmons age 32 of Eldridge, IA, formerly of Clinton, died Saturday May 12, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home, (2308 Pershing Blvd, Clinton, Iowa). Visitation will be held Wednesday 4 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Steve Simmons Jr., Ryan and Adam Simmons, Aaron Krogman, Craig Michaelsen, and Levi Laurion. John was born on April 9, 1980 in Clinton, IA, the son of Stephen and Lois (Bentley) Simmons. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1999. He married Jennifer Nichols on July 29, 2006 in Clinton. He was proudly employed as a journeyman electrician for IBEW Local #145 of Moline, IL. John thoroughly enjoyed life and everything it had to offer. He spent countless hours golfing, hunting, fishing, and camping with his family and friends.

John is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Jennifer of Eldridge; his parents, Stephen and Lois Simmons of Chester, VA; three brothers, Steve (Laura Fulcher) Simmons of Chester, VA, Ryan Simmons and Adam (Kelsey) Simmons both of Clinton, IA; his grandmother, Dolores Simmons of Clinton, IA; his father and mother-in-law, David A. and Patricia Nichols of Clinton, IA; five nephews and a niece. John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank G. Simmons, Alvin and Alice Bentley.
