Alvin L. Porter, 91, of Folletts, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton. Services will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig. Any of Alvin's friends are invited to lead the funeral procession to Clinton Lawn Cemetery on their motorcycles. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Elvin Dannatt, Byron Dannatt, Russell Kuberski and Leonard Kuberski and great grandsons, Jonathan Dannatt and Gabriel Dannatt.
Alvin was born, a twin, on July 16, 1920 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Leonard A. and Edna I. (Mess) Porter.
He was a self employed custom grain hauler and corn sheller and he owned and operated the Porter BMW Motorcycle Dealership for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the BMW M.A.O. and was a longtime member of the Moose.
Survivors include his children, Alvin Eugene (Brenda) Dannatt of Bald Knob, AR; Connie (Russ) Thorman of Dover AR; Leonard (Kathy) Porter of Camanche, IA and Sonya (Steve) Schroeder of Calamus, IA; Step-daughter, Karm Paysen of Calamus, IA and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, twin sister, Alta Stiles and brother, Harold Porter.
