Burdette N. Anderson, 92, of Clinton, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Mercy Living Center, North, Clinton. Services will be 10 am, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, where a 7 pm Rose Croix service will be conducted. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted. Serving as pallbearers will be his Lyons Masonic Lodge and Clinton Scottish Rite brothers.

Burdette was born June 28, 1919 in Baldwin, Iowa, the son of Howard and Frances (Nary) Anderson. Burdette married Jane Elizabeth Hill in Clinton on October 16, 1941; she died March 3, 2000. He later married Bernadine Sodeman in Clinton on February 14, 2003.

Burdette was a 1936 Clinton High School graduate. Burdette was a United States Army WWII veteran. He was employed as an electrician in the electrical construction field for 39 years retiring in 1981. He had worked for Turner Electric, Home Electric and Robbins Electric.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, Lyons Masonic Lodge #93, Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies, KAABA Shrine, Hi-12, the American Legion Post #190, the Boy Scouts for more than 30 years, Clinton Moose Club #363, the Hospital Dad Club and was a member of the Clinton County Committee of the Shriner's Hospital for Children.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadine of Clinton; daughter, Linda (Wallace) Pro of West Hartford, CT; son, Paul (Carol) Anderson of Iowa City, IA; brothers, Larry (Maria) Anderson of Davenport, IA; Gary (Jacqueline) Anderson of Davenport, IA; Niles (Shirley) Anderson of Unionville, MO and sister, Betty (Jerry) McKenrick of Bettendorf, IA.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur and Wilmer and sister, Pearl Striley.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #190, the Scottish Rite Almoner's Fund or Mercy Hospice.
