Camanche - Clara M. “Bootsie” Timmer age 84 of Camanche passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton. In following Clara’s wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside prayer service by her nephew, Deacon Jeffrey Schuetzle will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 7th at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Clara was born in Preston, Iowa on June 10, 1927, the daughter of William F. and Clara (Luedtke) Timmer. She graduated from Preston High School. Clara was employed as an Assistant manager at Fanny Farmer Candy Shoppe in Davenport for several years. She moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was employed at Johnson Controls as an Inventory Analyst for more than 20 years. After moving to Clinton Clara worked at The Alverno for 15 years. Clara was a member of the Church of the Visitation, Camanche. She was a lover of cats, especially her “Sassy”.
Clara is survived by a sister, Dolores A. Eisenbeis of Clinton; a brother, Richard J. Timmer of Camanche; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Mary, Genevieve, Rita, Rose and Frances and three brothers, Albert, Robert and Francis. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.
