Albany, Illinois - John F. Ketelsen age 68 of Albany, IL, died Sunday April 1, 2012 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 4th from 3 – 6 pm at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Following the visitation, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no funeral services held. John was born January 15, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Francis and Elsie (Gertsen) Ketelsen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1962. John married Emily Wulf on May 29, 1965 in Clinton. He worked as a shear operator at ALCOA for 31 years, retiring in 1997. He later worked at Picture Peddlers for over 10 years. John enjoyed playing in billiards leagues, being on the river, and was a longtime friend of Bill Blake in Bettendorf.
John is survived by his wife, Emily of Albany, IL; two children, Lisa (Ray) Carstensen and John M. (Sara) Ketelsen both of Clinton; three granddaughters, Anne, Amanda, and Tiffany; two great grandsons, James and Jayden; two sisters, Karen Abbott of Fulton, IL and Diane (Louie) Reed of Clinton; a brother, Michael (Janet) Ketelsen of Clinton; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
