Andover, Iowa - Iona D. Malone age 80 of Andover, Iowa, died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, February 26th at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Monday at the church. Burial will be at Andover Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Joe, Brian, and Eric Hlubek, Marcus, Troy, and Mike Malone, Mike and Kevin Pladna. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Tracy Brader, Adriane and Andrew Hernandez, Jessica Ramirez, and Allyson Stonestreet.

Iona was born on Feb. 25, 1931 in Andover, the daughter of Henry and Alma (Meinert) Eickert. She married Dean Malone on Dec. 16, 1947 in Clinton, he died in 1997. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Iona enjoyed reading and sewing.

Iona is survived by her two daughters, Kathie Hlubek of Andover and Evie (Dan) Pladna of Des Moines, IA; two sons, Keith (Sherry) Malone of Clinton and Raymond (Marnie) Malone of Glenview, IL; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Mahmens of Clinton; a brother, Wayne (Shirley) Eickert of Parkersburg, WV; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Eugene in 1997, three brothers, and an infant grandson, Matthew.
