Clinton - Ellen L. “Ellie” Wiedenhoff, age 67, of Clinton died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 29th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home.
Ellie was born in Pekin, IL on June 4, 1944, the daughter of John and Lois (Kendall) Gainer. She graduated from Mt. Carroll High School in 1962. Ellie married Dean Wiedenhoff on September 22, 2001 in Clinton. Ellie had been employed with Savanna Valves and Controls and later with ESB at Ralston Purina in Clinton for 13 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #474. Ellie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, fishing, traveling, casinos and the Mississippi River. She followed the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Bears, Lumber Kings and enjoyed going to see the Colorado Rockies play when visiting family in Colorado.
Ellie is survived by her husband, Dean; her daughter, Denise (Joe) Gummo of Clinton; her son, Michael (Teresa) Cram of Clinton; six grandchildren, Jody and Jamie Miller, Tim, Kevin, Michael and Brett Cram; four great grandchildren; her mother, Lois Berez of Pekin; three step-daughters, Anya Wiedenhoff and Alyssa Wiedenhoff both of Clinton and Amy Knudsen of Swisher, Iowa; four step-grandchildren, Adam, Addison, Keaton and Lucas; a sister, LuAnn Martin of Clinton; her mother-in-law, Gunda Wiedenhoff of Westminster, CO; a sister-in-law, Linda (Jim) Wiedenhoff of Arvada, CO and a brother-in-law, Karl (Diane Casper) Wiedenhoff of Denver, CO.
