Clinton - Michael J. Chapman age 60 of Clinton died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 23rd at the Church of the Open Door, 816 13th Ave. No. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22nd at the church and from 9:30 A.M. until the service time Thursday. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Roy Thompson, Jay Schmitt, Tom Baughman, Jr., Jeff Cook, Hunter Genco, Colton Kenworthy and Alex and Dustin Caldwell. Honorary Casket bearers will be his grandchildren.

Mike was born in Clinton on June 10, 1951, the son of Theodore and Violet (Turner) Chapman. He married Margaret “Peg” Regenwether on August 14, 1984 in Clinton. Mike was employed with Case IH in East Moline and after retiring, with Darling International. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door. He was very involved with Clinton Jr. Baseball, Clinton Pony League, Clinton Jr. Wrestling and Clinton High School Boosters. Mike was very active in coaching his boys in wrestling, baseball and football. He enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes the Bears and Cubs.

Mike is survived by his wife, Peg; eight children, Jeff (Linda) Chapman, Kerie (Jason) Greve, Ryan Dale Chapman, Ryan John (Kelly) Chapman, Riley Chapman, Walker Chapman, Jessen Chapman and Benton Chapman all of Clinton; 15 grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Al (Joann) Chapman of Knoxville, IA, Jackie (Tom) Baughman of Clinton, Bruce Rivers of Oshkosh, WI, Terry Chapman of Clinton, Richard (Katie) Chapman of Camanche, Sherry Chapman of Clinton and Vickie (Tom) Varner of Park City, Montana; nine sister and brother-in-laws, Steve (Kathy) Regenwether of Memphis, TN, Nancy (Richard) Winkel, Marcia Moore, Sheila (Dave) Lane, Julie (Mike) Carpenter, Mark Regenwether (Becky), Creighton (Peggy) Regenwether, Carolyn Schaeffer and Paul Regenwether all of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donnie Pray, two sisters, Margaret Schmitt and Janet (Gilbert) Thompson and a sister-in-law, Vicki Regenwether.
