Robert F. Frank, 83, of DeWitt, Iowa, died late Saturday evening, February 18, 2012, at The Alverno, Clinton, Iowa.

Robert Francis Frank was born July 21, 1928 in DeWitt, to Joseph and Margaret (Dockwiler) Frank. He was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph High School and attended Iowa State University briefly. Robert served in the United States Army. He worked for Iowa Mutual Insurance Company of DeWitt, retiring following 29 1/2 years of service.

He was well versed on a variety of subjects. Robert enjoyed genealogy as well as collecting old radios.

Surviving are a sister, Ruth Thorpe of Sugarland, Texas; nieces and nephews, David (Paulette) Frank, Michael Frank, Timothy Frank, Charles (JoAnne) Thornton, RuthAnn (Jim) VanLoo, Richard (Carol) Thornton, Daniel (Jeanne) Thornton, Mary (Phil) Hayes, Phyllis (Bill) Sunlin, John (MaryAnn) Frank, MaryBeth (Joseph) McGarry and Jim (Christie) Thorpe; other relatives and friends.

Preceding Robert in death were siblings, Joseph Frank, Florence Thornton, Anna Farrow, Hap Frank and Paul Frank and a nephew, Ed Frank.

The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, in the Church with the Rev. Fr. Paul Connolly will officiate. Burial and Military rites will be held at the Church Cemetery following Mass.

Pallbearers will be John Dermody, Christopher Frank, Joseph Frank, Kim Haring, Bino Garrity and Shane Garrity.
