John Paul Schrader, 53, of DeWitt, died Monday evening, February 6, 2012 at Clarrisa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

John was born January 10, 1959 in Davenport, Iowa to Glenn and Beverly (Collier) Schrader. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. John was a graduate of Central Community Schools, DeWitt. John worked in the agriculture industry all of his life which he greatly enjoyed. He worked for Glen Keppy and the Rock Island Sale Barn for a number of years. Most recently, John had been employed at the Highway 71 Ranch in Columbus, Texas.

Surviving are his mother, Beverly Schrader of DeWitt; siblings, Wendy (Jim) Studer of Centerville, Iowa, Joseph (Tina) Schrader of Texas and Brian Schrader of DeWitt; nieces and nephews.

Preceding John in death was his father, Glenn his grandparents and aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home of DeWitt, from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012. A service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Rafferty will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Barry Gerischer, Aaron Gerischer, Joshua Huntley, Tim Peters, Tom Peters and Dale Carpenter.
