Low Moor, Iowa - James D. Brown, Jr. age 67 of Low Moor, passed away Tuesday Jan. 31, 2012 as a result of an inoperable brain tumor. He had been in the care of the staff of Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf for the past three months. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Friday Feb. 3rd at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be held Friday 3 – 7 pm at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be held at Lower York Cemetery in Thomsen, IL at a later date. Online condolences can be left at www.papefh.com.

Jim was born on Dec. 3, 1944 in Savanna, IL, the son of James D. and Marian (Krafft) Brown, Sr. He graduated from Savanna High School in 1963. He married Janice Ehrich on July 3, 1965 in Clinton, IA. Jim worked as a pipefitter with Local Union #25 in Rock Island for over 35 years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.

Jim is survived by his wife, Janice of Low Moor; two daughters, JoDee (Grant) Wells of Clinton and Jona Brown of Clinton; six grandchildren, Nathan (Mandy) Wells; Nicole (Chris) Harmsen; James Brown; Aaron Wells; Alyssa Wells & Chelsea Brown; eight great grandchildren; and three sisters, Laura Roberts of Cedaredge, CO, Rebecca Kerkove of Savanna, IL, and Rhonda Brown of Caldwell, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
