Clinton - Paul Roth, age 51, of Clinton passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 3rd at Prince of Peace Parish. The Rev. Kenneth Kuntz and the Rev. Anthony Herold will con-celebrate. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Perry Springer, John Leslie, Jock Hendricks, Chad Housenga, Dan Naeve, Kevin Hoffman, Paul Krogman, John Lorenzen, and Doug and Dan Wagemester. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting.

Paul was born in Clinton on September 13, 1960, the son of Kenneth and Phyllis (Murphy) Roth. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1979. Paul married Christine “Christy” Wagemester on September 29, 1990 in St. Boniface Church. Christy died on August 28, 2009. Paul was a Toyota Certified Master Sales Consultant and a G.M. Certified Master Sales Consultant with McEleney’s in Clinton where he had been the monthly #1 sales consultant multiple times and had received the Greg Dahl Award.

Paul was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, a member and served as secretary of the Irish Boosters, a member and past-president of the Clinton Jaycees, Knights of Columbus, Loyal Order of Moose, Creeps for Charity, and the Roth Memorial. He was an organ donor, and a supporter of the United Way, Make-A-Wish, CEW, and the Boy Scouts, where as a young man he attained his Eagle Scout. He and his wife Christy were co-founders of the Clinton Twins Club. Paul followed his children’s activities and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, golfing, history, trivia, playing cards, and the Minnesota Vikings.

Paul is survived by his four children; Jennifer (Damian) Teymer of Cedar Rapids, Shannon Roth, Cameron Roth and Nic Roth all of Clinton; two grand- daughters, Josie and Jeanie Teymer; five sisters and brothers, Julie (Steve) LaCourse of Buford, GA, Mike (Phyllis) Roth of Young America, MN, Beth Roth of Clinton, Jeff (Jane) Roth of Camanche and Matt (Lisa) Roth of Clinton; his mother-in-law, Gladys Wagemester of Clinton and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathy (Steve) Eggers of Clinton, Cindy (Bryan) Gloeckner of Robins, IA, Dan (Mary Beth) Wagemester of Walford, IA, Doug (Kim) Wagemester of Cedar Rapids and Carol (Randy) Meier of Cedar Rapids, many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Kristen Mulholland and her children, Meghan, Nicholas, and Brooke of Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three brothers in infancy. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Church, Prince of Peace Schools, Make-A-Wish or the Paul and Christy Roth Children’s Memorial Fund at Gateway State Bank or Clinton National Bank, all locations.
