Clinton, Iowa - Patricia A. (VanZuiden) Cook age 80 of Clinton passed away Wednesday Jan. 25, 2012 at her home. According to her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday Jan. 28th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday 1:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton, IL. Memorials may be given to the Clinton Humane Society because of her love for her pets. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Patricia was born on Sept. 24, 1931 in Albany, IL, the son of Leo and Emily (Bell) Hurley. She married Jay VanZuiden in 1949 in Albany, IL. She later married R.W. Cook in 1972 in Clinton. Patricia worked at Mercy Medical Center as a registered nurse. She enjoyed wildlife, especially watching her birds and the deer. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and was an avid reader.

Patricia is survived by her three children, Linda (Terry) Ottens of Fulton, IL, Stephen VanZuiden of Pittsburgh, PA, and Margaret (Bruce) Holt of Cedar Rapids, IA; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Emily, Thomas, Cristina, Andrea, and Mercedes; two great grandchildren, Evan and Madison; a special family friend, Mary Jo Powers of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four children in infancy, four sisters, a brother, and her dog, “Buster”.
