Schultz Funeral Home Obituary:

Mrs. Margaret C. Flor, 93, DeWitt, Iowa, died early Sunday morning, June 6, 2004 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Mrs. Flor, the former Margaret Catherine Greve was born October 31, 1910 in Clinton County, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Claus and Margaret (Gluesing) Greve. She was a graduate of DeWitt High School. Margaret was united in marriage on February 16, 1938 to Louis W. Flor. The couple farmed east of DeWitt for many years until retirement. Louis preceded Margaret in death on February 9, 1970.

Margaret was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, and was a longtime member of the Ladies Aid. Margaret was an excellent cook and loved baking. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting and in later years enjoyed watching the PGA tournaments on TV. Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Pauline (Mrs. Ben) Burken, DeWitt, and Ruth Ann Johnson, DeWitt; five grandchildren, David Burken, Pamela Kendall, Anne Burken, Peter Johnson and Matthew Johnson; four great-grandchildren, DJ Burken, Brian Burken, Amelia Kendall and Louis Kendall.

Preceding Margaret in death in addition to her husband were her daughter, Claudine Flor, her parents, three brothers, John Greve, Virtus Greve and Arthur Greve an infant brother, Henry Greve and a sister, Bertha Nelson.

Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, 3 until 7 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2004. Service of Christian Burial 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. The Rev. Keith Speaks officiating. Interment at Elmwood Cemtery, DeWitt.

The family suggests memorials to Lutheran World Relief or Grace Lutheran Sunday School.

Pallbearers will be Dale Greve, Arthur Greve, Howard Williams, Mark Burken, John Burken and Ronnie Steward. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Nelson, Steven Nelson, Courtland Greve, Arthur "Jim" Greve and John Christian.
